Answer engine optimisation. No snippet, placement or citation is guaranteed.
In short
Answer engine optimisation (AEO) is the practice of structuring a page so a search engine or assistant can find a direct, accurate answer to a specific question and show it, quote it or read it aloud.
It applies to featured snippets, People Also Ask questions, voice answers and AI answers. The method is the same for each: one page owns the question, answers it at the top, then shows the evidence.
What the service includes
Research, page structure and a readiness check, built around the questions your buyers type.
The AI Search serviceThe questions buyers actually type.
Question-led queries from your Search Console data, grouped by intent, alongside what your sales and support teams hear every week.
One page owns each question.
A question heading, a direct answer in the opening lines, then evidence, method and exceptions. Near-duplicate pages are merged, not multiplied.
A checklist run against your pages.
Question headings, short liftable answers, answer formats, readability and on-page basics, checked on your priority pages.
How it works
Four steps. A person reviews every answer before it goes live.
How delivery worksPull question-led queries from Search Console and add the ones your team hears in calls, demos and support tickets.
Map every question to one page, so two pages never compete to answer the same thing.
Open with the direct answer, then add the evidence, the method and the cases where the answer changes.
Run the answer-readiness audit, fix what it flags and add structured data only where it matches visible content.

Measurement
A readiness score describes the page. Whether an engine uses that page is a separate question with separate evidence.
How it differs
AEO works at the level of one question and one page. That is what sets it apart.

SEO decides whether a page ranks. AEO decides whether the answer on that page is easy to find, lift and trust once it does.
AEOvsGEO
GEO asks how engines describe your business across many sources. AEO narrows the focus to a single question and the page that owns it.
AEOvsAI Overviews
An answer-first page can help with featured snippets and AI Overviews alike, but Google picks the sources for both. AEO is the page work, never the placement.
Evidence
Ruh AI is the first company Ciny runs for, and a sample of its pages has been through the answer-readiness audit. The lead figure beside this is about organic enquiries, not snippets or AI answers.
Organic leads, with the evidence attached.
Weekly organic leads rose from 6 in early July to 20 in the week of 24 August 2026. August paid spend was $0.
Question research from Search Console and your own teams, answer-first page structure, an answer-readiness audit of your priority pages and structured data that matches what is visible. The scope is agreed before work starts.
SEO work asks whether a page ranks. AEO work asks whether the page gives a clear, direct answer once it does. At Ciny the two are planned together, so one question never ends up with two competing pages.
It can make a page a stronger candidate. Google chooses which page to show and can change that choice at any time, so we never promise a snippet, a People Also Ask place or a voice answer.
Google no longer shows FAQ rich results, so the markup alone earns no special display. A visible, well-answered FAQ still helps readers. Any structured data we add describes content people can see on the page.
The audit checks each priority page for question headings, a short answer under each, answer formats, readability and on-page basics. It shows how ready a page is, not whether any engine has used it.
